UCLA is constantly on the move. As new priorities emerge for the university, UCLA's friends and donors respond. Among our recent
milestones:
$361 million raised in fiscal year 2008-2009 from gifts and pledges.
$5 million gift from the Arcadia Fund to UCLA Library. The largest gift ever for the library will support efforts to develop, preserve
and make accessible its collections, which are among the finest in the country and, in some subjects, the world.
The Bruin Scholars Initiative reaffirms UCLA’s core values of student access and
diversity by aiming to generate $500 million in student support—including $300 million for graduate student fellowships and $200
million for undergraduate scholarships—by June 30, 2013. In its first six months, the initiative has raised more than $28 million for
student support.
Ensuring Academic Excellence
A university is only as great as its faculty and students. To help recruit and retain the very best, UCLA’s Ensuring Academic
Excellence initiative raised more than $113 million to fund new endowed professorships and more than $137 million for student
scholarships and fellowships. While scheduled to end in 2009, the initiative reached its goals one year early.
Campaign UCLA
On December 31, 2005, UCLA completed the most successful fundraising campaign in the history of higher education. Campaign UCLA
generated more than $3 billion to deepen and broaden the university's excellence in education, research, health care and community
service.
