| The
UCLA
Library enriches every facet of the university, from core
academic programs in the UCLA College to the specialized education
in our top-ranked professional schools. UCLA faculty and students
rely on complete and in-depth library resources, including
historic manuscripts, newly published books, electronic journals
and databases. Many choose UCLA because of the quality of our
Library and its holdings. The continuing decline in state support
for the Library and the university, coupled with the soaring
prices of journals and books, means that our ability to purchase
essential resources becomes increasingly difficult each year.
The Library has thus turned to alumni, friends, staff and faculty
to help secure UCLA’s
extraordinary collections.
The Library offers a number of unique giving
opportunities. Gifts to the Library
Associates support the most critical needs of the Library,
from acquisitions and preservation to digital library projects.
Library Associates are eligible for borrowing privileges throughout
the system and receive invitations to lectures, exhibit openings,
and private viewings of our world-renowned holdings.
The Honor
with Books program is a meaningful way to pay tribute to a
special person in your life while making an important contribution
to future generations of students. When you make a gift to the
Honor with Books fund, a personalized bookplate is placed in one
newly purchased book in the subject area of your choosing.
Library supporters can build a permanent legacy by establishing a Collection Endowment. These funds make it possible
